M38, open cluster
M38 is regarded as an intermediate-age open cluster, rich in stars around 200 million years old. Located in the disc of our Milky Way, it is still young enough to host many blue stars, although the brightest member is a yellow giant that shines 900 times more brightly than our Sun. It has a visual magnitude of 6.4 and an apparent size of 20.0 arcminutes.
