M39 – Open Cluster

M39 (NGC 7092) is a sparse open cluster located approximately 320 parsecs away, within the Galactic plane, in the constellation Cygnus. With an estimated age of between 280 and 300 million years, its stellar population is dominated by B- and A-type stars that are still on the main sequence. The cluster contains around thirty confirmed members and has a low central concentration, characteristic of moderately evolved open clusters. It has an integrated magnitude of +4.6 and an angular diameter of approximately 30 arcminutes, making it an extended object ideally suited to observation with binoculars or wide-field telescopes.
