M103 (NGC581)
M103 (NGC581), in the constellation Cassiopeia, is an open cluster made up of several hundred stars, many of which are relatively young red supergiants. Unlike globular clusters, it is a more scattered and less populous grouping, with an estimated age of about 25 million years. It is a fairly bright and readily distinguishable stellar object, classified as type II 3 m in the Trumpler system.
