M94 (NGC4736)
M94, also known as the Cat’s Eye Galaxy, contains billions of stars arranged around a bright nucleus surrounded by a highly active inner starburst ring, where new stars form at an intense rate. It has a complex structure with a fainter outer disc. It is an (R)SA(r)ab-type spiral galaxy, notable for its extremely active nucleus and unusual morphology.
