M 103 (NGC 581)
M 103 (NGC 581), in the constellation Cassiopeia, is an open cluster made up of several hundred stars, many of which are relatively young red supergiants. Unlike globular clusters, it is a more scattered and less populous grouping, with an estimated age of about 25 million years. It is a fairly bright and readily distinguishable stellar object, classified as type II 3 m in the Trumpler system.
