Collinder 399 – The Coathanger
Collinder 399, also known as Cr 399 or the Coathanger, is an asterism made up of about thirty stars in the constellation Vulpecula. Its most distinctive feature is that the ten brightest stars form a pattern clearly resembling a coat hanger. Some of these stars show yellow-orange tones that contrast with other bluish components. In this image, 4, 5 and 7 Vul have been marked to make identification easier.
